Following the success of last year’s KidsSquare Event, Belfast Healthy Cities hosted more FREE events this year. The purpose of the events was to demonstrate the need for child friendly spaces within our cities. Child friendly space is about more than specific places set aside for children to play such as parks and children’s corners. Children need to be given ownership of spaces and use space in their own way. This is important both to help children develop fully and healthily and to allow them to learn the experience of being full, valued members of the community.
