Danish politicians learn from good practice in Belfast Print E-mail

A delegation of councillors and senior officials from the municipality of Horsens in Denmark visited Belfast in September to learn from good practice particularly in Health Impact Assessment. Horsens chose Belfast for the study visit as Belfast is one of the leading cities within the WHO European Healthy Cities Network and among the most experienced in conducting HIAs.

The delegation was led by the Chair of the Health Promotion Committee of the Council in Horsens municipality. The group visited the lower Shankill to learn about the HIA carried out on proposed regeneration of the estate and was hosted at Stormont by Carmel Hanna MLA. The visit also included discussions with Belfast Healthy Cities' staff and partners on current programmes of work.

A press release was also issued in relation to the visit.
