Training day 3 focused on how regeneration and urban design relate to health.

Connswater Greenway

Carol Ramsey from the Department for Social Development outlined the vision and strategy around recent regeneration in Belfast City Centre.

Hilary Thomson, from the MRC Social and Public Health Sciences Unit in Glasgow gave an overview of academic research on how regeneration impacts on health.

Russell Jones from Glasgow Centre for Population Health provided a case study of how the East End Local Development Strategy in Glasgow was influenced through Health Impact Assessment.

Finally, Michael McAvoy

of Belfast Regeneration Office outlined a vision for regenerating Belfast as a whole.

Site visits included the Connswater Community Greenway, the Titanic Quarter and Greater Village Regeneration Trust.
