Kids Square in St Anne's Square Belfast: Friday 23rd September

KidsSquare was a three day event, organised by Belfast Healthy Cities in September 2011, at St Anne’s Square, Belfast. Starting on Culture Night and running throughout the weekend it was visited by more than 500 children and their families. Participants had the opportunity to build, create, shout, laugh, jump, run, and play through activities that included 3D modelling, junk art, creating cityscapes, obstacle courses and free play.

The aim of the game was to have some fun and in the process to discover what will make a child friendly space in the City Centre, through engagement with kids.

 

Why? Ultimately, creating opportunities for children to shape urban space that can make a valuable contribution to the City Centre for everyone.The event was organised in collaboration with Play Resource, Sportopps, Belfast City Council, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, Department for Social Development and Public Health Agency. The event was supported by the NI Executive through the Department for Social Development.
