A meeting of the UK Healthy Cities Network was held in Belfast on 7 October.  The main item on the agenda was the terms of reference for the establishment of a UK Healthy Cities National Network.

Funding has been secured from Department of Health, England for two years for a coordinator post and admin person to support this network.  DHSSPS have contributed financially towards this National Network.  A shadow steering group (made up of Joan Devlin, Colin Cox (Manchester); Mark Dooris (Central Lancashire), Russell Jones (Glasgow), Judy Kurth (Stoke), Julia Taylor (Liverpool) and Sue Toner (Cardiff)) will initially drive forward the establishment of this National Network.
