WHO Secretariat

Having previously assisted the Copenhagen and Zagreb offices with preparations for the 2008 International Healthy Cities Conference in Zagreb, Croatia, the Belfast Healthy Cities office was officially announced as Secretariat for the European Healthy Cities Network in May 2009.

Initial work included preparations for the 2009 European Network Annual Business & Technical Conference which was held in Viana do Castelo, Portugal in June and assisting the Helsingborg office with facilitating the designation process for cities into Phase V.  Other work includes the preparation of strategic and working papers for the Healthy Cities Network and ongoing communications with the network cities across Europe.

As well as the ongoing designation process, preparations are currently underway for the next Annual Business & Technical Meeting in Sandnes, Norway 17-19 June 2010.
