Reducing Inequalities: Getting Results Flagship Programme

The flagship capacity building programme drew to a close this week with participants receiving certificates from the Belfast Healthy Cities Chair, Dr David Stewart, for successful completion of programme.

The programme saw 24 participants from a range of statutory and community and voluntary organisations undertake 4 modules facilitated by Erica Ison, WHO Expert Advisor and Specialist in Health Equity in All Policies and Belfast Healthy Cities.

  • Module 1: Inequalities in Context – Setting the Scene
  • Module 2: Collation and interpretation of the information on inequalities
  • Module 3: Integrating inequalities into policy development
  • Module 4: Developing appraisal skills and applying the learning

The programme was designed to contribute to the effective delivery of various high level regional and local policy and plans including Programme for Government, Making Life Better and the Belfast Agenda, all of which highlight reduced inequalities as a key outcome; and to establish a network of professionals across sectors who can contribute to share learning of collaborative action on inequalities.
