Wellbeing, Happiness and Resilience
Broaden understanding of factors and conditions that support wellbeing, happiness and enhancing resilience of our communities. Promoting these factors.
Objectives:
- Increase understanding of the concept of happiness and resilience, develop and embed wellbeing indicators in local policies and actions that will produce positive health outcomes
- Gain collaborative agreement on a set of evidence based indicators that promote wellbeing and resilience, in particular with early years. Encouraging policy makers to integrate these indicators into local policies and actions
- Identify opportunities to develop pilots that demonstrate contributory factors to resilience and well being and their contribution to health equity.
Wellbeing, Happiness and Resilience Resources
Active Living
Make active living, physical activity and pedestrian mobility a core theme of city development policies.
Objectives:
- Assess open space and the built environment to identify mobility for children and identify benchmarks for policy development
- Increase awareness and gain high level support for local policy formulation with actions and resources to increase physical activity and address childhood obesity
- Provide evidence base of effective interventions that can act as basis for regional and local policy change and establishment of pilots to address childhood mobility and obesity.
