Belfast Health Cities contributes to better practice in Workplace Health in Romania
Belfast Healthy Cities were in Romania in June contributing to a conference focusing on sharing good practice in workplace health.
It was the final event in a three year partnership between Belfast Healthy Cities and five regional organisations in Romania, took place on Tuesday 25 June in the capital, Bucharest.
The programme focused on:
Partnership working to address issues of workplace health, employability, and health and wellbeing.
Activities included:
- Training, in Romania, on community development principles, leadership and project management
- Facilitation of meetings for the design of work programmes
- Advising on the planning and implementation of health fairs to 19 rural communes (townships)
The programme also included study visits to Northern Ireland for employees and employers from Romania that included the opportunities to visit social economy initiatives and meet with business organisations.
And the production of three publications providing guidelines on:
- Workplace Health
- Inequalities in Health
- Partnership working in rural areas
that will provide an ongoing resource for organisations aiming to improve their practice.
