Pharmacy Schools Programme - Register Now
The Pharmacy Schools Programme is freely available, in a range of languages, for Primary Schools with lesson plans and resources for Primary 1 – Primary 7 and supports delivery of Personal Development and Mutual Understanding area of learning of the Northern Ireland Curriculum.
The programme raises awareness of self-care and community pharmacy services for common childhood ailments such as common colds, diarrhoea, hay fever, head lice and sore throats.
Using a health literacy approach and considering the importance of medication safety the lessons enable children to understand health professionals and health services, the role of a pharmacist, common childhood ailments, and how we can access and understand health information. This fantastic resource was co-produced with a range of organisations across pharmacy, education, health, community and voluntary sectors and academia.
