Green Health Maps are a project delivered under Belfast Healthy Cities Greening the City Programme. The project engages with communities to identify local green spaces, understand how people can use those spaces and support the use of green space in everyday lives to increase physical activity and improve mental wellbeing. Maps have been created for West Belfast, East Belfast, North Belfast Greater Care Zone, South Belfast Alleyways and Upper Springfield. Find out more about how the maps are developed and how they are being used to support the health of communities.
The Pharmacy Schools Programme is a structured education programme for primary 1 through primary 7. Mapped to the NI curriculum Personal Development and Mutual Understanding as well as World Around Us, this resource teaches children about the role of the pharmacist, how to access health information, medication safety and awareness of common childhood illnesses and self-care practices. The programme supports Belfast Healthy Cities to foster greater participation for Health and Well-being through increasing health literacy.
